The Premier League started on Saturday and Like many people across the land, I am very pleased to see it back! The excitement , the goals, the shocks and all, the opening weekend had everything we love about the English Premier League.

Manchester United thumped Swansea City in David Moyes’ first league game as manager, Cardiff City suffered defeat on their first game in the Premier League and Aston Villa stunned Arsenal on the opening day.

Rickie Lambert’s dream week continued as he helped Southampton to win at West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool started the new campaign with three points.

Roberto Martinez picked up a point in his first match as Everton manager, while the summer revolution at Sunderland got off to a rocky start following defeat by Fulham

Yesterday Tottenham also kicked off their campaign with a narrow win over crystal Palace and Chelsea Celebrated the return of the special one with a fine 2-0 win over Hull Tigers(prefer that to city)

Arsenal woes

Arsenal Fans all around the World must feel sad and angry at their club. I know it’s just the first game of the season but I think the manner of the defeat is what would have made Arsenal Fans really mad! I wrote a post last season Highlighting if Arsene is still the one for Arsenal. The problem with Arsenal and Arsene go deep! If your manager says winning fourth is like a trophy then that says it all! The manager and Board don’t match the ambitions of the fans. The fourth place he banks on is not as clear this year with teams like Tottenham and Liverpool strengthening. With the champions League Qualifiers coming up the squad looks very thin.

As a Neutral I think it would do Arsenal a world of good if they didn’t make the champions league proper this season because it will make the club realise that they need to have a better plan going forward as a football club. If they make it, it will only mask everything all over again and they will be in the same position next season. Just like Arsene did reacting to that 8-2 mauling they got by Manchester United few seasons ago, A similar damaging feat will spur the Frenchman to life again. I think Arsene cannot spot talent anymore that’s why Arsenal are in this position. He relied heavily on his astute signings and dealing but now managers like Klopp rom Dortmund have taken it to a whole new level. Players like Gervinho, Chamakh, Andre Santos and Park choo young make my point stronger meanwhile Klopp has recruited players like Lewandowski, Kagawa, Hummels and Gundoguan and made them champions! Something needs to be done fast or it will be a long and hard season for the Gunners

Oh Robin Van Persie

Robin van Persie acknowledged that it was important for Manchester United to make a winning start after scoring two goals in their 4-1 victory over Swansea City. Van Persie’s contribution was sublime, hooking in the opener before smashing home a 20-yard effort 17 minutes from time. Danny Welbeck also netted twice for the defending champions in their first league match under new manager David Moyes, while Wilfried Bony struck for Swansea.

I Personally have my doubts about Moysey time even with this thumping win but boy this went a long way to easing my pain! Even if we don’t sign the players we need, we have a very fine one in Robin Van Persie. I will enjoy watching him this season and even though i do not expect a trophy at least i know we will compete.

The special One returns!

SIGH! I never thought this day would come again. He is back and boy I am afraid! The way chelsea played yesterday albeit against HULL was scary. The amount of attacking talent on display in this team is crazy. Hazard, Oscar and De Bruyne were impressive. I am not surprised they are all good technical players with great movement and an eye for a pass. Frank Lampard rolled back the years with a POWERFUL Ronaldo Esque free kick that helped them to victory. Overall it was a fine display and I am not looking forward to the match against them next week. Premiership is well and truly on the way and I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds!
